Big Day, 8 Kittens Spayed/Neutered

Today was a big day for Feline Rescue Project. Firsts for everything. First 8 kitten collection. First time helping someone who could not afford to spay/neuter their feral cat population. First area where we will have to return to for several trips to spay/neuter all feral cats in an area. We know of 2 pregnant feral cats in this area so we will have to return in 12 weeks time to TNR more cats.

Another Feral Neutered

♂ neutered 3-14-11

What is Ear Tipping?

Ear tipping is the humane surgical removal of 1/4” of the tip of the right ear which becomes a visible life-saving permanent identification mark. Ear tipping allows us to visibly see which ferals have already been spayed/neutered so we do not have them placed under anesthesia and find out otherwise. There is always a chance that cats will pass away while under anesthesia. We do not wish to place the cats under unnecessarily anesthesia to reduce this risk as much as we can.
Most of our photos of feral cats have examples of ear tipping, here is another photo example.
